The FIFA Congress has officially revealed the host countries for the upcoming World Cups in 2030 and 2034. Saudi Arabia has been granted the honor of hosting the 2034 tournament, while Spain, Portugal, and Morocco will jointly host the 2030 event. FIFA President Gianni Infantino made this announcement during a special meeting in Zurich.
2034: A Solo Bid by Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia was the sole bidder for the 2034 World Cup. Following the FIFA World Body’s meeting, President Infantino officially declared Saudi Arabia as the host, marking the nation’s debut as a World Cup host.
2030: A Historic Collaborative Hosting
The 2030 World Cup will be a unique edition, with Spain, Portugal, and Morocco hosting the majority of the tournament. Additionally, Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay will each host one match to commemorate the World Cup’s centenary, as Uruguay was the inaugural host in 1930. The opening ceremony and the first match will take place in Uruguay.
