The Indian Women’s Cricket Team has made history by breaking their own record for the highest T20 score. In a match played in Mumbai, India defeated West Indies 2-1 in the three-match T20 series, clinching the final game with a commanding 60-run victory.
Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh delivered exceptional performances, each scoring half-centuries. Mandhana smashed 77 runs off 47 balls with 13 fours and 1 six, while Ghosh played a blazing unbeaten knock of 54 runs off just 21 balls, hitting 3 fours and 5 sixes. Additionally, Raghavi Bisht contributed with an unbeaten 31 runs.
Batting first, India scored a monumental 217/4 in 20 overs, which is now their highest-ever T20 total. This surpassed their previous record of 201 runs, achieved against UAE, and outshone their third-highest score of 198 runs against England Women.
Mandhana Named Player of the Series
India’s victory in the final match not only sealed the series but also earned Smriti Mandhana the Player of the Series title. She emerged as the top run-scorer, accumulating 193 runs in 3 matches, including three half-centuries.
