The 31st Bihar State Senior Ball Badminton Championship, held at Kameshwar Middle School, Paramanpur, witnessed thrilling matches as top teams advanced to the quarterfinals. In the men’s category, Siwan and Madhepura progressed from Pool A, while Naugachhia and Eklavya Sports Academy advanced from Pool B. Similarly, Begusarai and Vaishali moved ahead from Pool C, and Patna and Muzaffarpur secured their spots from Pool D. These teams displayed exceptional skill and determination, making the competition fierce and engaging.

In the women’s category, Vaishali claimed victory over East Champaran with scores of 35-24 and 35-29, while Begusarai defeated Badh 35-22 and 35-26 in crucial league matches. These results highlight the growing competitiveness and talent among female athletes in the state, making the championship even more exciting for spectators.

A special attraction of the event was the participation of Nepal’s men’s and women’s ball badminton teams. They were invited as honorary guests and received a grand welcome at the venue. Senior national player Deepak Prakash Ranjan led the reception, where the players were greeted with flower garlands. The Nepal Ball Badminton Federation President, Sanjay Kumar Yadav, and Manager Sita Yadav were also present, underscoring the strong bond between the neighboring countries.

Adding to the excitement, invitational matches between Bihar and Nepal are set to be played in both the men’s and women’s categories. This international collaboration not only enhances the prestige of the championship but also fosters camaraderie and sportsmanship among athletes from different nations.

Organized under the aegis of the Bihar Ball Badminton Association and the District Ball Badminton Association, the tournament is dedicated to the memory of Captain Shaheed Ashutosh. The event’s inauguration witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including Secretary Gauri Shankar, Joint Secretary Rakesh Ranjan, and Organizer President Narendra Chandra Naveen. The championship is a testament to Bihar’s thriving sports culture and its commitment to nurturing athletic talent.
