IPL 2025: Players Mumbai Indians Could Have Benefited From

Mumbai Indians are determined to bounce back in IPL 2025 after their disappointing 2024 season, where they failed to make it to the playoffs. Finishing at the bottom of the points table, the five-time champions are eager to turn things around in the upcoming season.

Since their last IPL title in 2020, Mumbai Indians have struggled to reach the finals, despite changing the captain in the previous season. However, their fortunes remained unchanged in IPL 2024, and they faced continued challenges. In preparation for the 2025 season, Mumbai has strengthened their squad by signing several new players in the mega auction, while also retaining the core of their team.

Despite their efforts, Mumbai may end up regretting the players they didn’t sign in the auction. Let’s take a look at three players they might miss out on in the upcoming season.

IPL 2025: Players Mumbai Indians failed to sign , and they will regret it

Quinton de Kock :
After releasing Ishan Kishan , Mumbai needed an opening partner for Rohit Sharma and targeted their former player Quinton de Kock . Mumbai Indians made the second bid for the player , but eventually opted out of the race .
He went up to Rs 3.40 crore , followed by South Africa ‘s De Kock who was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 3.60 crore .
De Kock is currently one of the most experienced batsmen in the world and has a good experience in the IPL . He has also won the IPL with Mumbai Indians before . Last season , he played for Lucknow Super Giants and scored 250 runs in 11 matches .

Ishan Kishan :
After not being able to sign de Kock , Mumbai targeted their former player Ishan Kishan . They made the first bid for the wicketkeeper – batsman but were soon out of it . Finally Sunrisers Hyderabad signed Kishan for Rs 11.25 crore .
Kishan has been playing for Mumbai since 2018 and has won two IPL titles with them . Last season , he scored 320 runs in 14 matches .

Joffra Archer :
Mumbai also bid for Jofra Archer but could not sign him . The pair of Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer could have proved to be a great partnership for Mumbai Indians .
Mumbai had made a big bid for the England star , but they eventually lost the race . Mumbai ‘s last bid was Rs 12.25 crore , and Archer was signed by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 12.50 crore .

Mumbai Indians team for IPL 2025 :

Jasprit Bumrah , Suryakumar Yadav , Hardik Pandya , Rohit Sharma , Tilak Verma, Trent Boult , Naman Dheer , Robin Minj , Karn Sharma , Ryan Rickelton , Deepak Chahar , Allahu Ghazanfar , Will Jacks , Ashwani Kumar , Mitchell Santner , Reece Topley , Krishnan Srijith , Raj Angad Bawa , Satyanarayana Raju , Bevon Jacobs , Arjun Tendulkar , Lizad Williams , Vignesh Punathur.
